A Quick, Honest Note Before We Get Into It

Hi, it’s Marie. I know nobody actually wants to read a privacy policy. I didn’t really want to write one either. But you deserve to know exactly what happens with your information when you visit my site, so I’ve tried to write this as plainly as I can without skipping anything important.

The short version: I don’t sell your data, I don’t share it with anyone who doesn’t need it to make this site run, and I take your privacy seriously because I’d want the same from a site I read. The longer version is below.

This website, MorningRoutine.club, is owned and operated by Marie Honeycutt, an independent writer based in Opelika, Alabama, United States. When this Privacy Policy says “we,” “us,” or “our,” it means me, Marie, and any tools or contractors I work with to keep the site running.

What Information I Collect

There are a few categories of information that may be collected when you visit MorningRoutine.club. Some you give to me on purpose, and some is collected automatically by the tools that keep the site working.

Information you provide directly. If you sign up for my newsletter, leave a comment on a post, fill out the contact form, or send me an email, you are giving me information like your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to write in the message. I only use this information to respond to you, send you the newsletter you asked for, or save your comment on the post you commented on.

The information collected through this site is used for a small handful of purposes, and that is it. I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, ever.

Specifically, your information is used to:

Send you the newsletter you signed up for, and only that newsletter, until you decide to unsubscribe. Reply to your comments, emails, and contact form messages. Understand which articles are popular, where readers come from, and how I can make the site more useful. Keep the site secure by detecting suspicious activity or attempted abuse. Comply with any legal obligations that apply to me as a website operator in the United States.

If I ever decide to use your information for a new purpose that is meaningfully different from the ones above, I will let you know and give you a chance to opt out before I do anything.

Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

This part is the one most people skim, but it is the part where most of the data actually lives, so I want to be specific.

Google Analytics. I use Google Analytics to see basic, anonymized traffic data, such as which posts are most read and what country my readers are visiting from. Children’s Privacy

MorningRoutine.club is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a teen reader who enjoys the site, you are welcome here, but please ask a parent or guardian before signing up for the newsletter or sending personal information through the contact form.

Your Rights and Choices

You have rights over the information this site holds about you, and I want to make those rights easy to use.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. The moment you click it, your email is removed from the list. You can ask for a copy of any personal information I hold about you by emailing hello@morningroutine.club. You can ask me to correct or delete that information, and I will do so unless I am legally required to keep a record of it. You can opt out of analytics and personalized advertising using the tools mentioned in the Cookies section above.

If you are a resident of the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to object to processing and the right to file a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a resident of California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

How Your Information Is Protected

I take reasonable steps to protect the information collected through this site, including using secure HTTPS encryption across the entire website, choosing reputable third-party providers, and limiting access to information to only what is needed to keep the site running. That said, no website on the internet can guarantee perfect security, and I want to be honest about that. If I ever become aware of a data breach that affects you, I will notify you as required by law.

Links to Other Websites

MorningRoutine.club includes links to other websites I trust, like research studies, brands I recommend, or other writers I admire. Once you click an outbound link, you are on their site, and their privacy policies apply, not mine. The internet changes, the law changes, and tools change, which means this Privacy Policy may need to be updated from time to time.
